HSBC names Georges Elhedery as the next Group Chief Executive

HSBC has appointed Georges Elhedery as the next Group Chief Executive, effective September 2. He succeeds Noel Quinn, who will retire on September 2. Before being named as Group CEO, Georges joined the board as Group Chief Financial Officer in early 2023.

He joined HSBC in 2005 and has worked in financial services, in various high-profile international roles, for almost three decades.
