Technology and Talent: The Pillars of Tomorrow’s Workplace

Mahesh Medhekar, VP-Human Relations, MBRDI, emphasises the transformative role of technology in redefining business operations and talent management. “The future workplace for me is WWW: Work, Workplace, and Worker Talent,” says Medhekar. He highlights the impact of AI and hybrid work models, enabled by technology, in facilitating global collaboration and innovation.

Medhekar also points to demographic shifts, particularly the expectations of a predominantly millennial workforce. “Meeting these expectations will drive innovation and productivity,” he asserts. Additionally, he underscores the necessity of work-life balance, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in retaining talent and fostering a committed workforce.

Purpose-Driven Growth: A Strategy for Sustainable Development

Pushkar Kumar, CHRO, Cairn Oil & Gas, outlines the importance of a purpose-driven approach in addressing economic and social challenges. “At Cairn, our purpose is to produce 50% of domestic crude oil production, up from the current 25%,” Kumar states. This goal is not just about boosting production but also about reducing import dependency and promoting sustainable development.

Kumar stresses the need for a highly inclusive, technology-driven workplace that thrives on ideas and respects environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. “To achieve this, we need significant investment, foreign direct investment, and the right policies,” he notes.
