Consulting leads IIM Ahmedabad executive MBA placement 2024

Consulting emerged as the highest role offered to IIM Ahmedabad executive MBA graduates during placement. The placement process for the graduating batch of the One Year Post-Graduate Program in Management for Executives {PGPX) at llM Ahmedabad was completed in June.

Among the positions filled by these candidates are chief product officer, vice president, associate director, associate vice president, leadership programs, program head, product head, consultant, senior manager, product manager, client partner, and operations manager.  A total of 105 companies visited the campus this year, with 67 of them participating for the first time.

A total of 26 offers have been made for consulting roles followed by 16 for IT consulting roles and 13 for banking, financial service and insurance (BFSI). However, the consulting sector saw a decline in offers accepted this year, compared to 31 last year including 6 international offers.

This year, only two international placements were offered to candidates within the IT sector, as compared to six in 2023 and five in 2022.

Out of 147 students eligible for placements, 21 students opted out of the placement process. Location-wise, Bengaluru tops the list with 45 offers accepted, followed by Mumbai (24) and Delhi-NCR (20). Eight and six offers were accepted from Ahmedabad and Chennai, respectively. Pune and Hyderabad offered 11 and 5 job roles, respectively. Frankfurt is the only international location to make the job offer to IIM Ahmedabad PGPX students in 2024 placement.

Last year, Amsterdam, Dubai, and Jakarta contributed to international placements.

Global slowdown and its impact on salary
