AI Alliance expands with 7 new members from India

The AI Alliance, dedicated to advancing safe and responsible AI through open innovation, has added seven Indian organizations to its roster. The new members are AI4Bharat (IIT Madras), IIT Jodhpur, Infosys, KissanAI, People+AI, Sarvam AI, and Wadhwani AI. This expansion highlights India’s increasing role in shaping the global AI landscape.

Dr. Amith Singhee from IBM Research India remarked, “These organizations will benefit from global expertise, addressing AI’s challenges effectively.”

Shivnath Thukral of Meta India noted, “India’s inclusion emphasizes the country’s growing influence in AI. Cross-border collaboration is key.”

The new members represent a mix of academia and industry, including the tech and agriculture sectors. They join IIT Bombay, a founding member of the Alliance.

Mitesh M Khapra of AI4Bharat stated, “We’re eager to advance AI for Indian languages and enhance digital inclusivity.”

Professor Mayank Vatsa from IIT Jodhpur added, “Open AI research accelerates breakthroughs that benefit society.”

Balakrishna D. R. of Infosys said, “Joining the Alliance aligns with our commitment to responsible AI adoption.”
