Apple to create 600,000 jobs in India

In a significant boost to the employment landscape, the US-based tech giant Apple plans to create 600,000 jobs in India by this fiscal year.

According to the Economic Times report, Apple will be able to add around 200,000 direct jobs by the end of the current financial year, with women making up over 70 percent of the workforce.

According to media reports, every direct job creates at least three indirect jobs, which could translate to 500,000 to 600,000 jobs overall.

In September last year, iPhone supplier Foxconn announced creating more than 50,000 jobs in India by 2025. This development came as part of the tech giant’s broader strategy to expand its manufacturing and operational capabilities in India, reinforcing its commitment to the region.
