FSIB names CS Setty as the new chairman of SBI

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended the appointment of Challa Sreenivasulu Setty as the Chairman of the State Bank of India.

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau interfaced with three candidates on June 29 for the position of Chairman in the State Bank of India (SBI). 

“Keeping in view their performance in the interface, their overall experience and the extant parameters, the Bureau recommends Challa Sreenivasulu Setty for the position of Chairman in SBI,” reads a press release issued by the FSIB.

Setty is the Managing Director heading the bank’s Global Markets & Technology wing. He joined the Board of SBI as Managing Director in January 2020. He started his career with State Bank of India in 1988 as a Probationary 

Setty will succeed Dinesh Kumar Khara, as the Chairman of SBI.
