“I’m pleased to announce that Vahan.ai has completed its Series B funding, led by Khosla Ventures, founded by Vinod Khosla — recognised as one of Time Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential People in AI in 2024,” said Madhav Krishna, Founder and CEO of Vahan.ai, in a LinkedIn post.

“What began as a mission to create a solution for the critical issue of economic inequality has evolved into Vahan.ai,” added Madhav. “This journey continues as we strive to provide employment opportunities for a billion people in India and beyond.”

The funding round also saw participation from prominent investors like Y Combinator, US-based VC firm Gaingels, and Vijay Shekhar Sharma, the founder of Paytm.

“We are also grateful for the support of Y Combinator, US-based VC firm Gaingels, and Indian tech entrepreneur Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder of Paytm, among others,” added the post.

The Bengaluru-based startup Vahan.ai utilises  AI technology to streamline the recruitment process for both employers and blue-collar workers. They help companies by connecting them with skilled candidates and empowering workers by offering job opportunities.

Expressing his gratitude, Krishna stated, “We are deeply grateful for the trust and support from our investors, partner organisations, the dedicated gig workers we serve, and the incredible team at Vahan.ai for their relentless hard work and commitment. Together, we are excited to embark on the next chapter of our journey and revolutionize blue-collar recruitment in India and beyond.”

This funding will fuel Vahan.ai’s expansion plans, including the development of AI-powered recruitment tools. Vahan’s ‘AI Recruiter’ currently conducts interviews in English and Hindi, with plans to expand to other major Indian languages over the next year.
